My hips are shifted the right and I feel low back and buttock pain. What can I do about this?
Shifted hips or an abnormal and acute curve of the low back can be caused by an injury to the discs in the low back (protrusion or herniation) or due to mal-alignment of the sacroiliac joint. The body, in its infinite wisdom will shift to attempt to relieve the pressure at the site of the injury and therefore relieve pain. A physical therapy evaluation will help determine the root cause of the shift and then manual techniques, modalities and exercises (like doing the "bump" dance) will help to relieve the symptoms and therefore correct the shift.
Call us at (724) 477-3181 for an evaluation if you are experiencing these symptoms or others that you just cannot seem to relieve.
